Still Alive." showcases three compelling albums — "The Ground That Does Not Move" by JS Worldbridger, "Nothing Is Required of You" by Julie Jewels Smoot, and "Still Alive" by Author Honey Badger, embodying themes of grounding, permission, and survival.

Some music asks you to become something.

Some music asks you to feel something.

Some music asks you to heal.

This trilogy asks none of those things.

The Ground Does Not Move, Nothing Is Required of You, and Still Alive were created as three connected listening experiences rooted in trauma-informed sound. Rather than encouraging listeners toward a destination, these albums offer space—a place where nothing needs to be accomplished before the first note is heard.

The trilogy grew from years of working with survivors of trauma, veterans, caregivers, therapists, and individuals living with chronic stress. Again and again, I witnessed how often people believed they had to "do healing correctly." They wondered if they were relaxing enough, processing enough, or making enough progress.

These recordings gently challenge that belief.

Listening itself can be enough.

Album One: The Ground Does Not Move

The first album is an invitation into steadiness.

When life feels unpredictable, the nervous system often searches for something stable. Rather than trying to change your emotions, this collection simply offers a sense of presence. It reminds the listener that not everything is moving, even when it feels that way internally.

As you listen, you may notice:

  • your breathing gradually becoming more natural

  • moments of stillness between thoughts

  • a growing awareness of your body resting against the chair or floor

  • sounds that seem to unfold without asking anything of you

There is no expectation that you become calm. Only an invitation to notice what is already here.

Album Two: Nothing Is Required of You

If the first album creates a place to stand, the second gently removes expectation.

Many people arrive carrying invisible pressure—to heal, to relax, to meditate correctly, or to have an emotional breakthrough.

This album quietly releases those expectations.

Nothing is required.

Not deeper breathing.

Not letting go.

Not changing.

Not understanding.

Only listening.

Listeners often tell me they experience a profound sense of permission while spending time with these recordings. Rather than feeling guided toward an outcome, they simply experience being present with the sound exactly as they are.

Album Three: Still Alive

The final album is not about triumph.

It is about endurance.

There are seasons of life when simply continuing to exist requires extraordinary courage. This collection honors those moments without demanding optimism or resolution.

Still Alive recognizes that survival itself deserves acknowledgment.

While listening, some people notice:

  • a quiet sense of resilience

  • greater compassion toward themselves

  • moments of emotional release

  • an appreciation for how much strength it has taken simply to arrive here

The album does not celebrate perfection.

It honors persistence.

What Listeners May Notice Throughout the Trilogy

Each person experiences sound differently.

Some listeners feel deeply relaxed.

Others remain alert.

Some become emotional.

Others simply enjoy the resonance of the instruments.

Every response is welcome.

Across the three albums, you may notice:

  • your breathing settling into its own rhythm

  • increased awareness of physical sensations

  • thoughts arriving and passing without urgency

  • moments of silence becoming just as meaningful as the sound

  • your nervous system gradually finding a pace that feels comfortable

  • an increased sense of permission to simply exist

There is no correct experience.

Nothing needs to happen.

Nothing needs to change.

The music does not measure your progress.

Why I Created This Trilogy

As a Sound Alchemist, Navy veteran, and trauma-informed practitioner, I wanted to create music that respected the intelligence of the nervous system.

Too often, healing spaces unintentionally become places where people feel they must perform wellness.

This trilogy moves in another direction.

It offers sound without pressure.

Presence without expectation.

Compassion without demand.

Whether you listen for five minutes or for the entire collection, whether you feel deeply moved or simply hear beautiful resonance, your experience is enough.

That has always been the purpose of these albums.

Because sometimes the greatest gift music can offer is not transformation.

It is permission.

Permission to pause.

Permission to breathe.

Permission to remain exactly as you are.

And to remember that beneath everything life has asked of you, the ground still holds, nothing is required, and you are, wonderfully and courageously, still alive.
