Threads of Trauma is the first collaborative album by Sound Alchemist Julie Jules Smoot and JS Worldbridger.
It emerged as a way to tell a lived story through sound when words alone were not enough.
This album weaves together music and spoken elements drawn from The Journey Back to Myself: A Book of Healing Poetry, Second Edition. Each piece holds a fragment of experience—memory, silence, grief, anger, endurance—offered without demand or resolution.
The work brings awareness to realities that are often minimized or ignored, including military sexual trauma, self-harm, depression, chronic pain, and the systemic silencing of survivors. Rather than explaining or resolving these experiences, the album allows them to exist as they are, carried through tone, pacing, and space.
Threads of Trauma is not intended to instruct, comfort, or fix. It is an act of witness.
A record of remembrance.
A way of saying: this happened, and I am still here.
Listeners may find resonance, discomfort, quiet recognition, or simply sound to sit with. All responses are valid.
This album marked the beginning of telling the story not for approval or understanding—but for truth.
