Reset for Therapists and Helping Professionals

From the Before the First Client Guided Meditation Series

Reset for Therapists and Helping Professionals is a gentle guided meditation created for therapists, counselors, healers, caregivers, and other helping professionals who spend their days holding space for others.

There are moments when one session ends, another is about to begin, and there is very little time to return to yourself. This meditation offers a quiet place to reset—to notice your breath, reconnect with your body, and allow yourself to arrive in the present moment before continuing with your day.

Rather than asking you to clear your mind, release everything, or achieve a particular state, this practice invites you to simply notice what is here. You are encouraged to soften where softness is available, breathe without forcing the breath, and remember the boundary between what belongs to you and what you have witnessed or held alongside someone else.

Use this meditation before your first client, between sessions, after a particularly demanding conversation, or at the end of your workday.

There is nothing you need to accomplish here.

You do not need to become calmer.

You do not need to let anything go.

You do not need to prepare yourself perfectly for the person who comes next.

This is simply a moment to return to yourself.

Listening First. Nothing is required of you.
